Elmer “Cheo” Funes exemplifies what’s possible with hard work, dedication, and a passion for craft. With more than 18 years of hands-on field experience, Cheo has steadily advanced through the ranks and now serves as a Senior Project Manager and Estimator at Robert A. Aird, Inc.—a role where he plays an essential part in project planning, team leadership, and client coordination. His deep knowledge of EIFS systems, strong leadership, and work ethic make him an invaluable asset to the company.
Cheo is a second-generation team member whose father has been with the company for decades, and his lifelong exposure to the trades brings a unique perspective to every job site. Bilingual in English and Spanish (read, write, and speak), Cheo is a vital bridge across teams and cultures, helping foster effective communication and collaboration. A true example of career growth in the trades, Cheo continues to expand his industry impact. In recent years, he has taken on greater responsibilities within upper management and is actively engaging with leading industry organizations such as EIMA, ABAA, and AWCI. His commitment to professional development continues this month as he participates in manufacturer training in Atlanta, further strengthening his technical expertise. Cheo’s journey is a powerful example of the long-term career potential available in the EIFS industry—and a reminder of the value that skilled, motivated professionals bring to the future of construction. |
