Scripps Vista
Exterior Facade Replacement
Vista, CA | Healthcare
Project Specifications:
This Scripps Vista Facade Replacement Project optimizes EIFS as a hero. This aging medical building had an original thin brick system that failed to keep water out and the bricks were falling to the sidewalks endangering patients and staff. EIFS and ARI to the rescue. The old brick facade was removed down to the steel stud framing, and new glass mat sheathing was installed, with Dryvit Backstop Liquid air and weather barrier for a watertight system. 1" EPS was adhesively attached using Vertical Ribbons to allow drainage. Following the Base coat and mesh over the EPS, a coat of Dryflex (waterproof base) was added at the slope areas for additional protection. After color priming a beautiful granite-like terraneo finish made the building glisten. Tremco Spectrum 3 sealant completed the system giving the owner added warranty that covered the entire system and building.
The versatility, lightweight and flexible EIFS system allowed this project to be done without any additional engineering, structural changes or reinforcement. The new system was able to easily integrate with existing windows, soffits and fenestrations. Scripps Vista with its broad slopes, sweeping curves and bright glistening finish does not even feel like the same building because of its Hero EIFS.
