Project Specifications:

The Bellview library opened in September 2022 as part of the West Florida Public Library System in Escambia County. The county purchased an old Wells Fargo building with the goal to convert the abandoned building into the library and revitalize an underprivileged part of the community. The project design team was tasked with renovating the existing bank while adding an additional 10,200 square feet onto the structure to complete the library and community space.

The project revolved around reusing the bank building with emphasis on delivering a creative design to reflect the playful and modern interior library and community space. The bright color scheme and unique design elements made EIFS a perfect match for this project. Unique EPS shapes were specially made for the project to create striking geometric shapes that are mimicked throughout the building, from the windows to the interior paint design. Custom shapes were complex to encapsulate with base coat and mesh, and required attention to detail when installing but achieving the geometric shapes would have been near impossible with another cladding.

The Bellview Library project team successfully completed the project with the original bank building now nowhere to be seen inside or out, demonstrating the strength and opportunity of EIFS in the restoration market.
