Grand Adirondack Hotel
Lake Placid, NY | Hospitality
Project Specifications:
The Grand Adirondack Hotel, built in 1927, is located on Lake Placid Main Street and overlooks views of Mirror Lake, Whiteface Mountain, the High Peaks, and other mountain landscapes.
Multiple exterior renovations and repairs over many years to try to modernize the exterior created a failing wall system which needed intense remediation, removal, and recladding. When contemplating masonry and stucco options, the weight and labor demands of both didn't meet construction budgets or demands. EIFS with brick and limestone finishes offered everything needed to update this historic property and preserve its historic legacy and local charm.
A new, drainable EIFS was installed and features brick, limestone, and traditional EIFS finish. The finishes are clean and crisp but offer the traditional charm and warmth desired. EIFS proved to be the clear choice for this historic property restoration.
