EPA Grant
The EIFS Industry Members Association is pleased to announce that it has been selected by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for funding to support efforts to report and reduce climate pollution from the manufacturing of construction materials and products. EIMA has been selected for a $2.189M grant.
With 38 selectees selected for $160M in total funding, these transformative awards stem from the US Congress and The White House's Inflation Reduction Act, which is the largest climate investment in history. The grants are aimed at reducing climate pollution by helping businesses measure the carbon emissions associated with extracting, transporting and manufacturing their products. |
EIMA’s grant will help the EIFS industry develop Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) and robust Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for EIFS products, producing a combination of industry-wide and facility-based EPDs. EIMA intends to contract with a reputable LCA provider with a goal of working with 100% of American EIFS manufacturers (including non-EIMA members) to develop 77 EPDs, covering as many as 1,350 EIFS variations.
