For More Information: EIMA Announces New ANSI Standard for EIFSFalls Church, Va., September 14, 2017 — The EIFS Industry Members Association is pleased to announce the release of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) approved EIFS standard. The title is American National Standard ANSI/EIMA 99 A – 2017. The new standard provides the minimum requirements for specifying and installing Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems (EIFS) and EIFS with Drainage. The standard used the procedures of the EIFS Industry Members Association, which are approved by ANSI. Furthermore, this standard replaces and updates the previous EIMA standard, entitled American National Standard for Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems (EIFS), which carried the designation ANSI/EIMA 99 A – 2001. The new standard will carry the designation ANSI/EIMA 99 A – 2017. “This is a great development for the entire EIFS industry. We owe our gratitude to the members of the ‘canvass’, who lent their expertise to the development of the standard” said R. Michael Murphy, president of the EIMA Board of Directors. “This standard represents another tangible product that demonstrates EIMA’s prowess as the expert in technical matters related to EIFS. The association is in the process of developing many other practice and design guides and standards, that will continue to offer assistance to those in the construction industry.” The new standard can be purchased on the EIMA Bookstore for $39.95. A Spanish version, at the same price, will be published in the coming weeks.
